Autumn on the Elkhorn
Fall along the South Elkhorn Creek in Kentucky. This beautiful creek starts around Lexington Kentucky and winds its way through the countryside where it eventually flows into the Kentucky River. Along the meandering way, it passes through the Throughbred horse farms and the rolling hills of central Kentucky. One of the many sites along this stream is the Weisenberger Mill which is located on the South Elkhorn Creek in southern Scott County, Kentucky. The creek has provided the water to power the mill's twin turbines since the 1800's. Six generations of Weisenbergers have operated the mill at the present location since 1865.
