Cherbourg France 2
My dad was a medic during WWII and he was often right in the mist of the
fighting. He spent his spare time drawing what he had witnessed during
this time. These are a reminder of what war is all about. This art is
now a part of the Air Force Art Collection that was started in 1950.
These pieces of art are constantly displayed at military bases
throughout this country and around the world.
These are the prints that the Army Art Collection gave my mother
when we had the opportunity to view the originals when the collection
rotated through Washington, DC. No one in the family had viewed them,
since he donated them at the time of his discharge after the war.
