A journey through the mists of time. This art was drawn from a rare
photo taken in 1912 that is in my fathers photo collection as it comes
into Versailles Ky.
This 4-4-0 Pittsburgh steam train ran from Versailles to Midway and
Georgetown then back again. This line was started in 1888 and ran until
1936 when it was abandoned and the track torn up. This is the paragraph
on this train from the Manual of the Railroads of the United States,
Issue 22 and dated February 11, 1889.

The tracks long gone, only the people that live along this old route
will see the few overpasses and the track bed. Wrapping the train in
clouds and water gives the viewer a sense of time and passage. Like the
images from our past, this one floats in and out of reality.
