
Number 2 Georgetown to Versailles Kentucky
Engine No 2 Versailles Kentucky 1912
My dad found this photo sometime in the late
1950's. It is the only photo of the No 2 train. The train is arriving
from Midway Kentucky and it is pulling into Versailles, Ky This photo
was taken in 1912.
This 4-4-0 Pittsburgh steam train ran from Versailles to Midway and
Georgetown then back again. This line was started in 1888 and ran until
1936 when it was abandoned and the track torn up. This is the paragraph
on this train from the Manual of the Railroads of the United States,
Issue 22 and dated February 11, 1889.
