James E Neace Bio

Born in 1915 in Mosouri, he grew up in St. Louis. He served in World War II as a medic and met my mother while receiving his training at Darnelle Hospital in Danville Kentucky.

 

During his time in the military he drew scenes from the battlefield which are now with the Military Art Archives in Arlington, Virginia.

 

He worked for 25 years at the Veterns Hospital in Lexington Kentucky as a manual arts therapst. He taught patients how to draw, paint, create woodblock carvings, leather tooling, printing and ceramics.

 

He is kown for his pen and ink drawings of cental Kentucky (MIdway) and his watercolors.
